Reflection on our journey with AWS Education Equality Initiative: bringing STEM & Robotics to every child in Vietnam

Every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of where they live. This vision is shared by the AWS Education Equity Initiative (EEI), a global Amazon Web Services program that supports organizations using cloud computing and artificial intelligence to expand educational opportunities for underserved communities. To date, AWS EEI has supported more than 300 initiatives in over 40 countries, helping innovative education providers scale their impact.

As a participant in the AWS Education Equity Initiative in Vietnam, KidsEdu sees this collaboration as more than a technology partnership; it is a commitment to social impact. By combining its STEM.org-accredited preschool STEM curriculum with the STEM Playhouse learning app, AI-powered teaching tools, educational robotics, and augmented reality (AR) experiences, KidsEdu is making high-quality STEM education more accessible and affordable for young children, including those in remote and underserved communities.

At the heart of this mission is teacher empowerment. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, KidsEdu’s Program & Operations Director  and Vietnam’s first STEM.org Master Trainer in early childhood STEM education, has served as a mentor for STEAM for Vietnam  in both 2025 and 2026 seasons, supporting teachers nationwide in adopting innovative STEM teaching practices.

Reflecting on her work, Ms. Hien shared: “Robotic education is not simply about coding or robots assembly skills. It’s about enabling children to develop logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the confidence to shape their future.” She also believes that “Technology is not scary – it is a gateway to creativity. By embracing new challenges, both teachers and children can unlock their full potential.”

For KidsEdu, technology creates value only when it expands learning opportunities. Through AWS Education Equity Initiative, the organization is strengthening its AI- and cloud-enabled education ecosystem to ensure that every preschool child – whether in a major city or a remote village—can experience engaging STEM and robotics learning. This commitment directly supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education (SDG4), preparing the next generation with the curiosity, creativity, and digital skills needed for the future.
