Learn about the diversity of tropical fruits through the KidsEdu STEM Augmented Reality (AR) coloring book! Mangos, pineapples, and guavas are a few examples that appear on the pages. These delicious fruits rely on the hot and humid climates to grow into various sizes, colors, textures, and flavors. Children become familiar with these fruits through our interactive and innovative activities.
The KidsEdu STEM’s AR Coloring Book is simple to use. First, children color. Second, teachers and parents use their phones to scan the QR code. Third, children watch their page come to life with the help of AR. Follow our KidsEdu STEM Instagram to watch a tutorial or read an infographic on how to use the product.
By coloring, children practice their hand-eye coordination and demonstrate creativity. With AR, they compare the 2D version of the tropical fruit coloring page to the 3D version. They also compare the color similarities or differences. Because this activity combines physical and digital skills, children conceptualize the same tropical fruit in two ways! They are better equipped to identify the tropical fruit in an abstract and realistic setting.
The KidsEdu STEM supplementary preschool program prioritizes AR education. Early exposure to AR is beneficial in youth education because it introduces a new way for children to imagine their everyday surroundings, and if children show interest, they can go beyond coloring and learn about the necessary coding in AR. Children practice their curiosity and computational thinking skills, which are fundamental to strengthening their overall digital literacy.
