The green STEM theme has likely become familiar to primary and secondary schools in recent years. For the preschool level, KidsEdu is one of the pioneering educational organizations that integrates the STEM learning approach with environmental protection activities.

As part of the green STEM initiative, KidsEdu is organizing a series of STEM – Robotics Festivals with the theme “Protecting the Green Planet!” – an exciting event aimed at “planting the seeds of green awareness” for preschool children this summer.

The competition offers children an opportunity to start STEM early

The STEM – Robotics Festival is not just an environmental competition. It is also a fantastic opportunity for children to explore and experience the dynamic world of STEM. The Earth is facing serious issues. Air pollution and waste are overflowing from cities to oceans. Clean water sources are gradually running out, and green forests are being rapidly destroyed. Climate change is threatening ecosystems and wildlife. In response to these challenges, children will apply STEM knowledge with the support of KidsEdu’s Robotics team to create environmentally friendly materials to carry out tasks that protect our “green planet.”

The festival is a place to encourage children’s creativity and develop independent thinking. Moreover, it allows children to apply their knowledge in real-life situations. With the goal of providing children with knowledge about technology and the environment, the event contributes to sustainable development and aims for a Net Zero future. Each competition segment integrates a story with an environmental protection message. Through this, children will be encouraged to think sustainably, learn to be creative, and develop environmentally friendly solutions, such as recycling, using energy efficiently, and protecting natural resources.

Exploring dynamic STEM – Children draw the green future

At the STEM – Robotics Festival, children will transform into “environmental activists” and participate in exciting competitions:

The first round is called Warm Up. The children, along with their teammates, will unleash their power through super fun warm-up activities:

▪️ Saving animals: Children will become “heroes” guiding animals to safety, away from pollution – learning while having fun.

▪️ Transporting clean water: A “super important” mission to help the planet stay healthy.

▪️ Trash collection: Children will turn into “green warriors,” cleaning up trash to make Earth more beautiful.

Next is the STEM application round, where children will hone their problem-solving skills with:

▪️ Trash collection arm: Children will create their own “weapon” to collect trash using simple recycled materials.

▪️ Magnetic trash truck : Children will make a “magic” truck that uses magnets to pick up trash.

▪️ Trash collection ship: Children will design a “super battleship” to save the ocean from waste.

And the final round is Robotics, where children will showcase their ability to master technology by controlling smart robots to complete impressive tasks:

▪️ City cleaning warrior: Children will program a robot to “sweep” the streets – small but mighty!

▪️ Marine waste management: The robot controlled by children will help restore the ocean’s clarity.

▪️ Planting forests, saving animals: Children will use robots to plant trees, covering forests and saving wild animals.

The STEM – Robotics Festival with the theme “Protecting the Green Planet” is organized by KidsEdu in collaboration with preschools in Hanoi. KidsEdu hopes this will be the starting point for fostering sustainable thinking. When children start early, they will understand the importance of environmental protection.

Let’s open up a bright future for Earth, where technology and creativity are always linked to environmental protection actions!
